Hurricane Recovery Guide

After battering the southwestern coast of Florida as a strong Category 4 Hurricane, being downgraded to a Tropical Storm as it crossed the Florida peninsula, entering the Atlantic off the northeast coast of Florida regaining Hurricane status as a Category 1 storm when it plowed into the Carolinas, Ian has now dissipated as an organized storm system. With the storm’s passing the focus now shifts to assessing the losses – both in human lives and property – and recovery.

Focus on Recovery, Here’s How

The process of assessing losses will be difficult given the intensity and scope of the storm. We wanted to share information and some cautions to help you with your post-storm recovery efforts.

After your location is open for return, it is critical to follow the directions and guidance of local authorities as there will be many new hazards present including downed trees and power lines.

Times of struggle and crisis typically bring out the best in people and it’s inspiring to see the rush of outreach and support being made to those impacted by Hurricane Ian.  Unfortunately, times such as these also bring forth some who may bear ill intentions.
